In memory of

Shirley Esther Brown

November 5, 1927 -  June 18, 2024

Shirley Esther Brown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at the age of 96. Loving wife to the late Charles. Beloved mother of Michael and the late David. Sweet mother-in-law to Donna, Jean and Sergio. The very best grandma to Geoffrey, Sarah, Benjamin, William, Katherine, Laura and Emma. Great-grandma to Evelyn, Eloise, Arthur and Daisy. Predeceased by sibling Renée, and parents Doris and William.

Words cannot express the role Shirley played in the lives of those who knew and loved her. She was an icon – stylish, well-traveled, elegant and remarkably kind. She was very proud of her work as a manager at Bell and once retired, she pursued life-long learning at Glendon College. She was also a keen volunteer at the AGO and St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church. Shirley was most passionate about her family, as evidenced by the unconditional love she showed them, as well as her unwavering loyalty and nurturing spirit. She will be missed by family, dear friends and the kind staff at Bendale Acres where she spent her last years. We send you off with love and gratitude!

Was saddened to hear of Shirley's passing and my thoughts go out to her family at this time. I have many good memories of Shirley during my early teenage and younger years when I lived in Toronto and went to school with both her sons Michael and David. She will certainly be missed by many.

Shirley was an icon!!
While only fortunate to have met her and her family for the last few years of her life, I could feel and see the devotion to her from all those who got to know her. What a legacy, may she rest in peace
