It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Shirley Rodrigues (née Brownlee) on September 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family at Elginwood Long Term Care. While we mourn her passing, we find peace knowing that she is no longer in pain.
Shirley was born on March 23, 1946, and was a lifelong resident of Richmond Hill, Ontario. She held fond memories of her hometown and loved sharing stories of attending each new public school in Richmond Hill as they first opened their doors.
She was predeceased by her mother, Barbara Brownlee of Richmond Hill, and her father, Dave Brownlee. Shirley leaves behind her loving sister, Patricia Brownlee; her daughter, Wendy Kaell (née Rodrigues); and her grandchildren, Desirae, Jonathan, and Dominic.
Shirley’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the compassionate staff at Elginwood for their dedicated care over the past five years.
In keeping with Shirley's wishes, a private service for family only will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Shirley’s name to a charity of your choice.
