In memory of

Shew On Wong

November 10, 1931 -  February 10, 2021

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Shew On Wong, known to many of us as Gon Gon or Mr. Wong, on February 10, 2021. Predeceased by his wife, Carmen Wong, and his sons, Michael and William. Cherished father of Winnie Wong (James Circosta) and loving grandfather to Olivia, Samantha, and Kaitlin

While not big in stature his passion for life was large. He enjoyed travelling and daily outings just the same; always making new friends wherever his adventures would take him. A gentle man with a kind heart and a glowing smile who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was a huge Blue Jays fan and Tim Hortons aficionado. Even though he knew his way around the kitchen and was an excellent cook he loved takeout food as much as he did to shop for a deal.

With a razor-sharp memory, there is not a place, or a person Gon Gon would forget. He enjoyed reminiscing and telling stories of old, amazing those around him with a resounding recollection of things recent and in the far past. Being a resourceful person, he taught us to waste not is to want not. He found enjoyment and pride in his special projects. Gon Gon demonstrated how happiness can be obtained by giving your unconditional love.

Our beloved father and adored grandfather you will be greatly missed and remain forever in our hearts.

"Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives."

Due to restrictions resulting from the COVID pandemic, viewing and funeral services will be held in private at the York Cemetery & Funeral Centre on Wednesday February 17, 2021 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm.

Family and friends are welcome to leave condolences in the online guestbook. We would like to thank everyone for their support during this difficult time.
