In memory of

Sharon Marie Cosburn

January 18, 1945 -  April 1, 2022

Sharon Cosburn—wife, mother, friend, and community member—lived a vibrant life.

A lifelong Toronto Beach resident, Sharon's childhood—with her parents Archie and Gwen—was marked by loving and cherished moments with friends and family.

Sharon remembered a youth full of adventures and maintained lasting connections to her younger days, notably an enduring bond with her best friend, Stephanie Foster.

In her early 20s, she met her first husband, David Pointon, and together they had two children, Nicole and Daniel, and raised them on Cavendish Street; it was a special street where many friendships were made and where Sharon dedicated herself to raising her family.

Beginning in her late 30s, Sharon worked at Toronto East General Hospital (now Michael Garron Hospital). She entered a newfound phase of independence, and eventually met and married Russell Cosburn.

Sharon and Russ enjoyed an expansive life together, traveling the world, golfing, and enjoying friendships at the Toronto Hunt Club and Balmy Beach Club. The two were perfectly suited to each other and shared many tastes.

The couple loved to host Sharon's adult children at their Henley Gardens apartment, and Sharon adored spending time with her grandson, Nicole's son Oliver, with whom she had a very special connection.

In recent years, Sharon dedicated herself to Russell's health through the end of his life in January 2021. In early 2022, Sharon's health also turned, and she passed away on April 1, 2022.

Her community-minded spirit and deep love of family and friends remained until the end.

Please join us in paying tribute to Sharon's memory at a simple burial at Pine Hills Cemetery on April 16, 2022 at noon. A celebration of life will take place at a future date when a gathering is possible.

Dear Nicole, Daniel and Dave, I am so sorry to hear the news of Sharon's passing. Our families have many fond memories together which I will carry with me always. Whether camping in the Rocky Mountains in the 70's or chilling on the beach at Georgian Bay a decade later, Sharon always bore a big, infectious smile. Sharon and my mom shared many a laugh sitting on the porch at the Mariner; I can still hear some of those conversations in my fond memories of their time together. May she rest in peace. Much love, the Reiters.
