Shahla jan was an angel. She was something above human. The way she spoke was like a melody to your ear. She was full of life and positive energy. She would give you hope, confidence and love. Shahla Jan’s smile was contagious. Her beautiful face was always covered with a smile which gave you happiness.
The way she read Rumi and Hafez’s poems was therapeutic and brought you calm. The way she spoke with her sweet Shirazi accent was so magical; you never wanted her to stop talking.
She had such a big heart that I am unable to describe her kindness and generosity.
In her loving memory, we must remember her beautiful smile and recite a poem when we gather together. Life is too short, enjoy the moment, as she believed.

Shahla joon was one of the strongest women I had the privilege of knowing. She never failed to smile and present a positive view of any adversity. She certainly passed that on to Kathy, a childhood friend turned sister for me. This mother and daughter duo's kindness was a place of refuge for me and I am sure for many family members and friends. Her legacy of positive attitude, love for life, a good Persian food and great laughter will live on in Kathy and Ana. Much love for you all and I am sorry I will miss the memorial service.
