With sadness, we inform you that Sebastiana “Nonna” Scire, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on November 2nd, 2016 after a near 10 year battle with cancer. She was born in the beautiful town of Pachino, Sicily on August 8, 1944 into the Muccio family. She came to Canada in the mid 1960’s to start a better life with her new husband Giuseppe Salvatore. Sebastiana was a daughter, sister, wife, mother and most importantly a loving Italian grandmother, a Nonna. She worked hard and guided those around her with love, understanding and a firm hand. These are traits she passed on to her children. In her last months, she was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Graziella in her daughter’s home. She is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Giuseppe Salvatore who was by her side every minute of her final days. She also leaves behind her son, A. Elia and his wife Patricia and their two sons Andrew and Alexander as well as her daughter, J.C. Graziella and her husband Maroun and their two sons Dylan and Joseph. As we pay tribute to her, we must remember the happy times and big family meals we shared with her, not the sickness that took her in the end. She will live on through our memories, stories we share and recipes she handed down, forever in our hearts.
