In memory of

Savitree "Norma" Prashad

May 4, 1935 -  March 12, 2024

With a heavy heart and profound sadness, we share the news of Savitree “Norma” Prashad's passing. She was a daughter, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend—and she was dearly cherished and loved in each role.

Norma was born on May 4, 1935, in Georgetown, Guyana, and died on March 12, 2024, in Brampton, ON, at 88. She always put others before herself, persevered no matter the cost, and lived with grace, dignity, and compassion. Norma never failed to ask how you were doing—even when she couldn’t remember the answer.

Norma is predeceased by her parents, Shivsankar and Mary, and her brother, Rabindranath. She will be remembered by her seven children and their spouses, her two brothers and their spouses, countless nieces and nephews, many cousins, a flock of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and more.

Norma’s life will be honored with viewings on March 20 and 21 and a funeral service on March 21. In line with her wishes, she will be cremated directly after.

We extend a special thank you to her team of nurses and aides for their unwavering support and care throughout the years.
