Mom was born in Hong Kong, into a big family. She was the 10th of 19 children. While having lost her father in an early age and having lived through the war, she was nurtured by the love of her wonderful mother and surrounded by her many fun loving siblings.
Trained as a nurse, Mom worked through her life, first in Kowloon and Queen Mary Hospitals, and then side by side with Dad in their family practice, while raising two young sons. She was a dutiful nurse,a loyal friend an attentive wife and a loving mother. Mom and Dad were inseparable, often seen walking hand in hand into their old age.
Mom and Dad came to know Christ in the early 80s and committed their lives to the Lord holding hands, with a simple prayer in their bedroom. They attended their local church in Happy Valley briefly before migrating to Canada, where they continued to worship at the North York Chinese Baptist Church.
Mom was a conscientious student, taking up interests in oil painting, calligraphy, and even French at one stage. She took her Sunday school and Bible study seriously, often making detailed notes in preparation. A gifted knitter and blessed with a sense of aesthetic , Mom left her mark on many.
Even as Mom aged and developed dementia in her later years, her grace, cheerfulness, and quiet resilience became her hallmark, like fragrance that permeated to others around her.
