Sathyabhama Thirunavukkarasu, a cherished member of the Tamil community in Canada, peacefully passed away on October 31, 2023, at the age of 95, after a brave battle with Alzheimer's that lasted several years. She was born on June 12, 1928, in Kurumpasiddy, Jaffna, Sri Lanka, to Thirunavukkarasu and Sivapakiyam.

Sathyabhama was a loving sister to Late Mrs.Sathiyadevi Pathmanathan and Sivarajan, and a devoted mother to her sons, Iswarah Kumar and Skanda Kumar. She took great joy in the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, showering them with endless affection and wisdom.

It is with great sadness we received the news of the demise of Mrs. Sathiyabama, who was a good friend and guide for many of us including my late wife. She was very generous with her time and money to help the needy at a time that was needed, without hesitation. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
