In memory of

Sandra "Sandy" McCormick

March 26, 2022

Passed away peacefully at home on March 26, 2022, in her 78th year, after a brief illness and with her beloved husband of more than 50 years, James Melanson, at her side. Loving daughter of her deceased parents Mildred McCormick (nee May) and Samuel McCormick, and devoted daughter-in-law to Blanche Melanson (Benjamin). Sandy is a member of the Quarter Century Club after her long career with the Ontario Public Service. She enjoyed long conversations and reminiscing about the good times of days gone by. She had a heart of gold and took a genuine interest in the lives of everyone she knew. She will be profoundly missed by her family and her large circle of friends. At Sandy's request, there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations in honour of Sandy's life may be made, if you wish, to the Toronto Humane Society or the Terry Fox Foundation.

I will miss you very very much. Your friendship meant the world to me. I will miss our catch up chats on Saturday night and the laughs we had. You made this world a better place. You made my world a better place. Rest now my friend and I see you again for a cocktail or two.❤❤

Sandy was literally my lifelong friend. She would cheerfully tell people she remembers the day I was born and often called me her ‘adopted little sister’. So many good times. So many laughs. So many long phone conversations often lasting an hour or more. I’m going to miss you Sandy. Rest In Peace.❤️

Sandy and I have been friends for almost 58 years ; I have a vivid recollection of my first seeing her when I went for my first job interview at Com Soc. I feel as if a cornerstone of my life has been removed. Sandy was always so cheerful, insightful and a joy to be with. I miss her greatly.
