In memory of

Sandra Hyland

September 29, 1952 -  April 25, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sandra “Sandy” May Hyland—affectionately known as Nana, Nana Sandra, and Aunt Sandy—on April 25, 2025.

Sandra was a proud mother to Matt and Peter, and a loving mother-in-law to Julia. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother to Jake and Grace, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Never missing any sports event, dance recital, or other milestone, Sandra's love and support were unwavering. Her role as Nana was at the heart of her life, and she treasured the memories created with her grandchildren. Sandra’s greatest joy and pride was in watching her family grow and thrive.

Sandra was the beloved sister of Michael (Bernie), Howard, Marion, Madeline, and Dolores, and a cherished aunt to many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Marion Ellen (Oster) and Charles Joseph Hyland.

Sandra’s strength, determination, and fierce love for her family shaped her life. She pursued a better future for herself and her sons. Over the course of a 25+ year career in the Ontario and Toronto Court Systems, Sandra built a legacy of leadership, professionalism, and commitment. She took immense pride in her work and the difference she made, always striving to provide her family with the best opportunities.

Sandra's warmth, kindness, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love, strength, and dedication to those she held dear.

Frank and I were so excited to be sharing another trip this year, early May with Sandra and her son Peter. Sandra made many friendships on our last trip.. they will be very saddened by her loss.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to develop a friendship with Sandra. Her sense of humour and deep commitment to her family and friends will be felt deeply by us all.
