In memory of

Samuel Aelred McHugh

March 3, 1932 -  January 23, 2023

McHugh, Samuel Aelred { Al }
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Samuel Aelred McHugh who was loved and cherished by his wife of many years Sylvia.
Al was the loved and proud father Glen, Brian { Margaret }, Gordon { Derek } and the very proud Papa of his granddaughter Catie and grandsons Ethan and Liam. Mourned by his sister Wilma { Clarence } and predeceased by his sister and brothers and their spouses Geraldine { Gerald }, Raymond { Margaret } and Kenneth { Phyllis }. Also remembered by many nieces and nephews. Al was a caring and thoughtful man born to the late Mary [ McGrath} and Reginald McHugh on a farm in the small community of Norway near Tignish Prince Edward Island . He left home in his teens with others to go to Toronto and although he went home almost every year, he loved Toronto , his cottage on Rice Lake and many years in Florida.
So many have shared and helped along the way on his journey and battle with cancer. The list is very long and we are very grateful. A special thank you to Barbara and Gerry Hackett for their endless support and to his very special friend Nancy Franklin we thank you. We are forever grateful for the dedication of so many in the medical field for their encouragement and efforts to make things easier and others so willing to lend a hand. Also, thank you Dean Clegg for your endless help over the years. Our beloved, Aelred (Al) was cherished and loved and will forever be in our hearts and memories.
