In memory of
Samir Tahan Samara
September 19, 1947 -
March 14, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Samir Samara (age 73) on March 14, 2021. He was born to parents Fahd and Samia Samara on September 19, 1947 in Haifa. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science from the College of Engineering, and spent his career as an aerospace engineer with the Middle East Airlines in Lebanon.
Samir is best described as the ultimate family man. He was happiest when his house was full with laughter, food and most importantly, his (very large) immediate and extended family. He was the family handy-man, always ready with an endless supply of tools and a practical solution.
Samir is lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Amal, his three children, Christine (Jean), Daniel (Sinem) and Caroline (Braden), his grandchildren Michael, Lea, Lucas, Mikayla and Madison, his mother, Samia, his sister, Samira (Sami), his brothers, Mounir (Diana), Walid (Ghada), Rabih and Fadi (Joyce), and his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Fahd.
Due to the current COVID-19 gathering restrictions, visitation and service will be private, by invitation only. A live stream link will appear on this page at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
In memory of Samir and in lieu of flowers, donations to Central East Regional Cardiac Care Centre located at Scarborough and Rouge Hospital's Centenary site would be appreciated by the family.
