In memory of

Russell Conrad Ross

December 18, 1933 -  January 14, 2025

Russell Conrad Ross passed away peacefully at home on January 14, 2025, at the age of 91. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Susan (Carlos) Ross, son David (Sharone) Ross, grandchildren Max, Lilah, Cyrus, and Emiliana, sister Judy (Ken) Findlay, brother Christopher, ex-wife Mary, and was pre-deceased by his brother Ron Ross. He was also survived by a wide circle of friends, especially those from his cherished dance community

Russell led a life rich with passion and adventure. In his early years, he enjoyed motorcycling, building and sailing his own sailboats, and renovating houses. As the years went by, his love for dancing—particularly The Foxtrot and West Coast Swing—became a defining part of his life, and he was still dancing just a week before his passing. In his later years, he discovered a profound talent for painting, becoming an incredibly prolific artist whose works reflected his vibrant spirit.

Throughout his 91 years, Russell was driven by an insatiable curiosity and a genuine interest in the world around him. He was a true gentleman, known for his warm humor, deep appreciation for family, and ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures. Independent, active, and happy until the very end, Russell’s long and fulfilling life leaves a legacy of love and inspiration for those who knew him.

He will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.

A Celebration of life will take place at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto, ON, on Sunday, January 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice, should you wish to honour his memory in this way.

Thanks for the beautiful words of remembrance. It is so fitting... We danced away over 15+ years...We celebrated Russell's 93rd birthday at the Harmony Club and with another dance group at the Oakridge Center. He will be greatly missed.
