In memory of

Rushworth Winfield Herdsman

December 5, 1967 -  December 1, 2021

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Rushworth Winfield Herdsman on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at the age of 53 one week short of his 54th birthday surrounded by his family at Brampton Civic Hospital. He was the son of the late Julian Herdsman. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Samara Herdsman and Kaylene Herdsman and father Locksley Herdsman and sisters Paula Callaghan and Christine Herdsman-Boswell. Fondly missed by his grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Dearly loved and missed by his close cousins Maxine Witter, Howard Herdsman and Matthew Herdsman.

Born in May Pen Clarendon Jamacia December 5, 1967, grew up in New Bowens Jamaica and migrated to Canada in his twenties. Rushworth loved to garden. He was a foodie and enjoyed planning out his weekly and Sunday “dinna”. He enjoyed playing dominos, soccer and enjoyed watching sports especially cricket. He gave people many nicknames, but his nickname was “Rushie” by which he is still referred to.

Anyone that knew Rushie grew to love him as he always made people laugh with his boisterous sense of humor. He genuinely cared for those in his life. While we are sad for our loss, our hearts are filled with love, joy and gratitude for Rushie being part of our lives.

Knowing Rushie over 25 years has been a gift. He has always shown me love and respect. He would give me gardening advice and always admired my flower and vegetable garden. Rushie also loved and requested my baked goods “yellow cake” and “noggle pie” (macaroni pie). I will miss being called “wifie” and know that he is smiling from ear to ear in heaven. 🙏🏽 May you Rest In Peace Rushie - we love you 💕

The Lord looked at you and his words were. Well done my good and faithful servant. You've fought a good fight. May the immediate family find comfort in your memories.
