In memory of

Rozalija Toth

February 16, 1937 -  June 15, 2024

With sadness and sorrow we announce the passing of Rozalija Toth (nee Nagy), on Friday June 15th 2024, at the age of 87.
Wife to the late Alexander (b 1931 - d 2005). Dear mother of daughters Rosie (husband Jack), Margrit, and Susan (husband Chris). A wonderful "Mama" to grandson David.

Born in Dolnji Lakos, Slovenia on February 16th 1937 to Maria & Miklos Nagy. She started out with very humble beginnings, but she would still recall many funny stories about her family and their life. She left home and came to Canada, with her new husband Alexander, in 1957. Finding a place within the Hungarian community and the St Elizabeth of Hungary Church, she volunteered for decades in the kitchen as part of a team that catered countless events. She enjoyed those long days cooking because she was among good friends.

She worked diligently, inside and outside the home.
She immediately began working only one day after arriving in Canada, and didn't stop until almost 50 years later.
She was an avid gardener. The spring and summer were her favourite times of the year, when she could "go play in the garden".
She loved to cook and bake. It was a rare occurrence to leave her house without her sending containers of delicious food with you.

She was humble, modest, generous, independent, strong and most often times chose to laugh.
Her presence in the lives of her family and friends will be missed.

My dear Roszika your friendship was special, we shared so much through the years, we supported each other, talked for ever about everything and anything. Losing a friend like you is a painful moment. It’s hard to imagine the world with out!
Dear Roszika, may you rest in peace and know that you will always be in my heart and thoughts.
My deepest condolences to Rosie, Margrit, Susan and family. Sending you strength today and peace in all the days ahead.”

I'm very sorry to learn of her passing, every time I drove past the house, I admired the gardens.
