Royal Joseph Carney

January 29, 1973 - April 18, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Royal Joseph Carney surrounded by his parents Carol and Frank Carney, Royal took his final breath calmly and in his sleep. Royal was a compassionate man who inspired the lives of so many through his years of teaching and coaching. His impact on the world was felt by so many both young and old.

Royal leaves behind his wife Christina and two beautiful daughters whom he adored, Kennedy age 11 and Emersyn age 8. His sister Cara and her husband Jay, sister-in-law Melissa and husband Sean, brother-in-law Ryan and his wife Grace and his sister-in law Carly. He will be missed by so many nieces and nephews who loved him, Ella, Brody, Braelyn, Wyatt, River, Brooks and Jaxson.

He fought hard right till the end and never lost his “Eye of the Tiger” mentality. In lieu of flowers, Royal would love a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation in his name.

To one of the greatest men I have ever met, a man full of integrity and humility. I was so blessed to have been able to call you Coach and friend. There are no words to say how much you’ll be missed. I didn’t think that the last time I heard from you, would have been March 22,2025!

You’re definitely gone too soon and all I’m left with is to send condolences to Christina and your girls, knowing that as much as I/we miss you, there are no words for how much they will. Rest in Peace my dearest friend who gave so much and asked for so little. Thanks for all your kindness……

Sincerest condolences to all of Royal's loved ones.

Like you promised, Royal, I know you will be there in August cheering me on at my triathlon. I'll hear your voice reminding me to pace my swim, to push a little harder on the pedals when I'm on the bike. And when I run, you'll tell me: "Youve got this!" You'll be there.

So grateful for your shared wisdom and positivity. So honoured to have been a part of our invaluable friendship.
