In memory of

Roy E Couch

September 27, 1931 -  January 22, 2025

Surrounded by his loving family, Roy died peacefully on January 22, 2025 at the age of 93. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 67 years, Gladys and their children, Bill (Elaine) and Anne (Larry). He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Alex (Stephanie) and Meghan (Jeremy) and loving “Papa” to his great- grandchildren Ava and Merida. Roy is predeceased by his sister Ada (Jack) and brothers Howard “Bud” (Doris) and Walter (Muriel).
Roy retired from the Toronto Board of Education where he enjoyed 37 years as a carpenter ending his career as a Trades Supervisor. He was very active in the community volunteering his time coaching hockey at Wexford Hockey Association and coaching baseball and soccer. He was also involved in his church, teaching Sunday school for 35 years.
You could always find Roy spending countless hours in his workshop or puttering in his beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. He also enjoyed spending time on the golf course and travelled often to Myrtle Beach with his golf buddies, but most of all he loved and treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.
Roy will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. In the words of his great-granddaughter “he was a really great man”
A celebration of Roy’s life will be planned at a later date. The family appreciates everyone’s support.

Roy was a fabulous gentleman that I always admired and respected.
Working with Roy at the Wexford hockey association was a pleasure and he was a tireless worker doing anything he could to enrich the lives of so many young hockey players.
Later in life I truly enjoyed our Wexford boys coffee mornings and story telling.
Roy you will be missed at the table.
RIP my friend

I remember Roy fondly as a Sunday school teacher, through Wexford hockey and as the next door neighbour of my parent’s best friends Ern and Jean Pike.
Roy was a kind and gentle man.
My condolences to the family.
