SIDNEY, Roy Clarence
Peacefully passed away on November 29th, 2016 in his 83rd year from complications due to Alzheimer’s Disease.
Roy was born in Toronto, Ontario on March 31st, 1934 and was the only son of Margaret Bannister Sidney (who pre-deceased him in May 1934 never getting to hold her baby son) and Harry Purvis Sidney (1994).
Loving and devoted husband for over 62 years to Marie, best dad ever to Patricia (Gord Kimmerer), Suzanne (Kevin Watson) and Steven Sidney. Wonderful Grandfather to Christopher Kimmerer (Melanie), Julie Lohnes (Jeff), Kyle Watson, Alicia Watson and Sarah Sidney. Terrific “Big” Granddad to Madison Kimmerer, Alexandra Kimmerer, Peyton Lohnes, Caitlyn Kimmerer and Emily Lohnes.
A “Celebration of Life Service” will be held at The Simple Alternative at 1057 Brock Road in Pickering – Saturday December 10th, 2016 visitation from 10:00am – 11:00am – Service in the Chapel at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the charity of your choice.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff at Community Care/Orchard Villa in Pickering for their kind care during his stay over the last 2 ½ years.
