In memory of

孫張國華 Rosita Sun

November 3, 1946 -  December 12, 2016

Passed away peacefully at Providence Healthcare in the morning on Monday, December 12, 2016 with family by her side. Cherished wife of Chao Lii Sun for over 46 years, loving mother to Edward and his wife Kristi and fabulous NaiNai to Ella and Hilary. Beloved older sister and aunt to Audrey Chang (New Jersey), nephew George Khouri (NYC), and brother Patrick Chang and his family in Taiwan. She will always be a treasured member of the extended Sun, Ma, Huang, Tambling, Commisso, and Stanley families.

Rosita’s magnetic and sparkling personality helped her to make connections and leave a lasting impression wherever she went. She appreciated people's unique qualities and strengths. She got to know people by name and made friends everywhere - from Scotiabank colleagues, early bird swimmers at Birchmount Community Centre and Variety Village, the staff at Sun Valley and Costco, neighbours on Harding Blvd and their condo, and the staff at Princess Margaret, Toronto General, and Providence Healthcare Palliative Care unit where she received her treatment and care. You could count on Rosita to be upbeat, endearing, determined, and often a little bit sassy. She could light up a room with her smile and we are all richer for having her in our lives.

Rosita lived her life as a daughter, sister, wife, Mama, aunt, NaiNai, friend, neighbour, colleague, cheerleader, risk-taker, straight-shooter, charmer, and trooper, and now is a beautiful angel who will watch over us.

In appreciation of the excellent care she received, donations may be made in her memory to Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation for cancer research or Providence Healthcare Foundation for palliative care.

Very saddened to hear about the loss. Rosita was a kind, generous and always giving individual. She loved her grandchildren and was always talking about them. We will miss her greatly.

Rosita has been a very special friend to me and my family.
We met at ScotiaBank at Pape & Danforth where we worked at the same branch location.
She sought to be a caring individual who could be depended on for advice and support on any work and personal issues.
She has been a caring and loving friend and someone who has guided me in my younger years to the person I now am.
Charlie, Kristi, Ed, we share your loss and will always remember her ever smiling face, no matter the occasion.
Our prayers and thoughts are with you on this sad occasion.
Sean & Yasmin Mohamed.

Ours was a brief but cherished friendship. We met at Variety Village and I was instantly taken by her wonderful, genuine and warm smile .. as was everyone who came in contact with her .. I was blessed to have known and spend time with her. Her serenity, honesty and grace was constant .. Fly butterfly fly ..
