In memory of

Rosemary "Rosie" Ziesman-Behrend

August 26, 1939 -  October 19, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Rosemary (Rosie) Ziesman-Behrend in the company of her daughter Michelle and son-in-law John at Michael Garron Hospital on October 19, 2024.

Rosie is survived by her daughter Michelle (John), stepson Sandy (Lisa), grandchildren Will and Lexie, sisters, Lilo, Ingrid and Amy as well as many adored nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Rosie was preceded in death by her husband Herbert (2024) and Helmut (2002).

Rosie was a loving mother, doting Omi to her grandchildren, caring sister and tante as well as a thoughtful friend to many.
She always made sure we were all taken care of with her delicious dinners, many laughs and for her grandchildren, a little bit of money stuffed in their pockets.

Rosie was also a dynamic and successful businesswoman having owned two beauty salons in Forest Hill Village. She enjoyed her job so much; she worked until she was eighty years old.

Rosie requested a private “Celebration of Life” with her family and very close friends.

In Rosie’s memory, a donation to St. Joseph’s Hospital would be greatly appreciated as the medical team at the Oncology department took such good care of her.

Tante Rosie was always the life of the party. She used to Vogue with the best of them. She was brilliant with the nicknames she made up for Helmut. She was always smiling and the coolest aunt ever. She looked after me and always treated me fairly, whatever was going on

I’ve always remembered how nice your mom was to me. I met her a few times in the village, including a party at your place. She made me feel so welcome, and I could tell she was a genuinely kind lady.
My deepest condolences, Michelle.
