In memory of

Rose Evagelou

August 13, 1933 -  February 28, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Triantafillia (Rose) Evagelou on Monday, February 28, 2022 at the age of 88.

Rose was born on August 13, 1933 in Meliti, Greece. Sister to Sia and Leika and beloved departed brother Elias. Loving and devoted wife to her dearly departed husband, Petros (Peter), of 70 years.

Rose and Peter had unconditional love for each other and were inseparable. Together with their son Tom they arrived in Toronto, Canada in 1962 to start a better life and in 1964 their son Steve was born. Rose was a dedicated employee of Quality Meat Packers for over 30 years who worked tirelessly to support her family and, when not working, spent every minute as a devoted, loving homemaker.

Rose loved cooking all the traditional Macedonian meals. She was an early riser and for special occasions like New Year's she would get up at 2am to bake her home made pita with a "good luck coin" to be discovered by a fortunate family member. For Easter, she loved to bake bread and colour eggs for the cracking game competition. Rose was happiest when she could share everything she prepared for family, neighbours, and anyone who came into her home. With Rose you could "never say no".

Having come to Canada with just a suitcase and dreams, Rose and Peter took great pride in providing for a warm, safe and happy home. She took much joy in maintaining her welcoming vibrant flowers on the front veranda. Together, Rose and Peter nurtured a bountiful vegetable garden every year in their backyard. She was famous for handing out buckets of peppers and tomatoes to everyone that she knew. For Rose, everyone else came first. This was her way.

Tom, who married Sandy, and Steve, who married Grace, blessed Rose with four grandchildren, Andrew, Peter, Michelle and Sonia. "Baba" adored them and their presence always gave her a big smile as she surrounded them with love.

She is now reunited with her dearly departed husband Peter. For everyone that knew her... Rose, Mom, Baba, Teta you will always be loved and forever missed. You brought happiness and joy to everyone that was fortunate to know you. We love you. Rest in Peace.

Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Friday March 4th, for Visitation from 11:00am - 1:00pm . Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm Interment within Pine Hills Cemetery . In lieu of flowers donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated .

Tom (Sandy), Steve (Grace) and all the grandchildren, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Everything said in this beautifully written obituary about Thetsa Lanka is so true.
Also, she was the middle of two sisters with an only brother that truly loved each other. When I saw her, it was always na Teta. Sweet and loving and very hard working and so proud of her kids and grandchildren. I know my mom and Thetsa Sia will miss her so much as we all will. Silipitiria ma agapi, Mary (Jack) Hope
