Peacefully left this life on Sunday December 29, 2024 at the age of 88. Rosario was born to parents Chang Hiok and Sy Boa in Manila, Philippines on September 15, 1936. She lived in Manila until she immigrated with her children to Toronto, Canada in 1994.

Rosario is survived and greatly missed by her children Leoncio, Caroline, Catherine (Steve), Victor, and Christine (Tracy), her grandchildren Michael, Audrey, and Amelie, and her siblings Aurora, Rose, Lily, Lebe, and Antonio. Rosario also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.

Rosario touched the lives of many she encountered along the way from her years growing up in Manila, Philippines up to and including all her years living in Toronto, Canada. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds. Always warm and welcoming, she never hesitated to turn her home into a gathering place for family, friends, and even virtual strangers. She was always quick to prepare a meal for anyone and everyone, and ready to set up a table for mahjong games.

Rosario was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She cherished her time with each family member and leaves a lifetime of memories with each of her siblings, children and grandchildren. Rosario was the epitome of unconditional love; she never wavered in providing steadfast support to those around her. Her warm smiles and easy laughter made the days lighter and brighter for many.

With a mind sharp as tack, she was often sought for her wisdom and sound advice. As hobbies, she loved solving puzzles and did crosswords daily. She enjoyed crocheting and made many beautiful pieces for family. She loved watching movies.

Tough and determined, Rosario persevered through many different setbacks and was a model of courage and resilience. Even into her latter years, she did not let her need for mobility support stop her from going out with family.

Rosario, a beacon of kindness, love and courage, will forever live in our hearts.
