In memory of

Ronald William Davie

September 9, 1936 -  July 11, 2021

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Ronald William Davie (September 9, 1936 – July 11, 2021). Ron will be greatly missed by his wife Meni, his children Alison Roberts, Scott Davie, Susan Gray, Jason Davie, stepdaughter Donna Miovski, and his twelve grandchildren.

Ron was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of the late William and Margaret Davie. As a young trust clerk, Ron was alerted to a gas leak at his workplace. Risking his life, he bravely proceeded to the boiler room to shut off the gas, saving his colleagues from grave danger. As a reward for his bravery, Ron was given the opportunity to attend an accountancy program which led to his future career. After serving two years of National Service in Germany and then Cyprus, Ron emigrated to Canada in 1963. Starting out as an accountant in a firm in Weston, Ron then worked in the construction industry for many years before finishing his career as Controller and President of Howarth and Smith printing company.

Once retired, Ron enjoyed cooking and gardening and often talked to his family about the meals he had made and the vegetables he had grown on his vast terrace garden. He enjoyed daily walks with his wife Meni, and regular visits with his children and grandchildren.

Ron will be remembered for his love for his family, strong work ethic, dry sense of humour, positive attitude, passion for life and his pride in his Scottish heritage.
