In memory of

Ronald Walmsley

June 12, 1931 -  March 28, 2020

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Walmsley, peacefully on March 28, 2020 at the age of 88 years. Ron was born June 12, 1931 in Manchester, England and emigrated to Canada in 1952. Loving husband to his wife, June. Loving father to his 2 children Sandra (Tim) and John Brian (Elena) and his 2 grandchildren John and Michelle. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Ron emigrated to Canada and started his career working at Avro Aircraft on the Avro Arrow as a tool/die maker and draftsman which is also where he met and married his wife June in 1956. He then moved on to spend the remainder of his working career as a millwright teacher at George Brown College in Toronto. His main passions were travelling, photography and dancing. During their 63 years of marriage, he and June travelled extensively and it has been said that there was no place in the world they hadn’t visited with travel continuing into his early 80’s.

A special thanks goes out to the caring individuals at Guildwood Extendicare Nursing Home who took good care of Ron during his last few months that he spent there.

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, a private service will take place for family members only on Saturday, April 4, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the Carfrae Chapel, Mount Pleasant Cemetery, 375 Mt Pleasant Rd, Toronto Ontario with a Celebration of Life to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to support the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario or the Sunnybrook Foundation would be appreciated.

Thinking of all the time spent at mums place with you all on special occasions and going to Agincourt and watching slides or all of the trips that Uncle Ron and aunt June enjoyed. We saw a lot of the world through those slides. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
