In memory of

Ronald Craig Fordyce Clark

September 8, 1948 -  March 21, 2020

Ronald died at home, as he wished. He was the beloved and cherished husband to Dr. Eva Grunfeld; brother to Jeanette Browne (David); caring and loving uncle to nieces and nephews Michelle, Kim (Jeff), Jeffery (Nancy), Kayla (Christine), and Aaron; and great uncle to Quinn, James and Lylah.
His family and many friends will miss his kindness, caring, quiet wit, and generosity. He approached everything with dignity, politeness, and panache (he was known to even wear a tie while fixing friends’ cars). He was always willing to help and was the ‘go to person’ for anything and everything anyone needed to know or to fix, always offered with modesty and consideration. A true renaissance man!
The family is indebted to the team at Princess Margaret Hospital for the excellent care Ron received: Drs. Aaron Hansen, Andrew Bayle, and Camilla Zimmerman. And, the thoughtful care from Dr. Ciara Whelan from the Temmy Latner Palliative Care Program and the palliative homecare team through the Toronto Central LHIN. Without the support of their services Ron’s wish to be at home till the end would not have been possible. In lieu of flowers donations in Ron’s memory can be made to the palliative care program at Princess Margaret Hospital (https://thepmcf.ca/Donate-Now) or to Temmy Latner (http://www.tlcpc.org/patients/home-care/care-team/donors.
Sadly, due to public health concerns, a remembrance and celebration of Ron’s life will be postponed until the summer of 2020. An announcement will be made on these pages.
We invite you to leave condolences and memories of Ronald in the guestbook - click the link below.

Dear Eva - Please accept my sincere condolences for Ron’s passing. I can only imagine how the loss of your life partner is impacting you during these challenging times.

While Linda and I have been sheltering in place for three weeks, if you would like to talk please feel free to call me. Stay home, stay safe, stay well.

I will always remember Ron for his happy disposition and warm smile. He always took a genuine interest in others when talking to them. I was very blessed to grow up across the street from him and Eva, and he will be sorely missed.

Dear Eva,
Steve just forwarded the message of Ron's passing to me, and I wish I could give you a huge hug. I'm so sorry to hear it. I know it was a long journey for both of you. You were so graceful and positive throughout his care, and I can only assume that a man described as having 'panache' (fantastic word and so descriptive) was the same. I feel so deeply for you, and hope you're getting lots of support from friends and family. I'm sure your thoughts are crowded with memories, and hope some of them can make you smile.
All my warmest wishes, and a virtual hug,
Christine

Knowing Ron has been a wonderful and colourful experience. Talking with and spending time with him an absolute delight. When he lived on Windsor Avenue and I was raising my two children he was often a go to for a good chin wag. He always had a witty comment about the goings on on the street that made for a good laugh. Clever, sweet, loyal, soft spoken with a prescence that was bigger than life. Oh that beard and those sparkling eyes that looked right through you. He will always have a special place in my heart..
