It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Robin Hugh DEY. Robin passed away at his home in Toronto peacefully and with dignity surrounded by loved ones and friends. Robin was a beloved partner to Harleth, father to Madeline (Michael), Katie, grandfather to Kassius, brother to Judy Graham (Ross) and Susan Wallace (Dan), family of Jennifer and Shane Byrne, Tristan and Caleb, Chelsea and Sean, Wendy, Joe, Luke and Josiah Bretz, and a dear friend to many. He is predeceased by his parents, Walter and Cora and his best friend and K9 partner Axel.
Robin had a positive impact on everyone he met. Born in Ottawa in 1964. Robin was hired by the Toronto Police Service in 1987, where he spent time at 53 Division, 51 Division and SIS. In 1999 he transferred to K9, where he was promoted to Sergeant. In 2005 he returned to 51 Division where he spent time as a uniform Sergeant, a Street Crime Detective and a CRU Sergeant. Robin retired on February 1st, 2018 after an exemplary career. Robin was a role model and a father figure to many officers. Anyone who knew Robin will always remember his infectious smile and laugh that could light up any room he was in. He was truly loved and will be very much missed.
