In memory of

Roberto Alcon

July 5, 1971 -  January 3, 2022

Robbie was born and raised in the Philippines.
He graduated from Gabu National High School.
Rob graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications from Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU).

Following graduation, Robbie joined "BUKROS" Ilocano Singing Group.
BUKROS Ilocano Singing Group recorded Folk songs and Philippine Classical Ilocano songs.
Volume 1 recording was released in 1992 and more after. These recorded songs went on to receive air time on Filipino radio stations.
Following his musical success Robbie decided to pursue his dream and moved to Canada which he accomplished in July 1994 with the help of his sister Maggie.

Robbie had various jobs between 1994 and 2000 including working at Harveys and Second Cup. He then went to school to update his computer skills before joining the Royal Bank of Canada in early 2000 where he received many “good performance” awards in his 21 years at the Bank.
Robbie was someone who loved fun in life and living in the moment. He was the true “life of the party”.
In early December, 2021, Robbie was diagnosed with advanced cancer which took his life suddenly on January 3rd, 2022.
We extend our gratitude to the medical professionals of the Toronto General Hospital, the Toronto Western Hospital and Princess Margaret’s Hospital, all of whom worked hard to look after Robbie while he was in their care.
Robbie leaves behind his beloved husband, Nigel, and many other family members and friends.

Directions to Robbie's final resting place can be found under the Media Tab in the upper-righthand corner, once you click Media, select Documents. Please feel free to visit our dear Robbie when you'd like.

You could never walk by Roberto's desk without that feeling of warmth. His wonderfully decorated desk and warm personality were one of the best things of working on the 10th floor! You will be missed Roberto.
My dearest sympathies to the family.

Roberto had the best smile ever. He always brought out the fun side in all of us. My deepest sympathy to the family.
