Robert Wills Sandercock

November 8, 1928 -  January 5, 2026

Robert (Bob) Wills Sandercock passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026 in his 98th year at Carefree Lodge. Predeceased by his wife and best friend, Barbara (2011), he leaves behind his stepdaughter Janet Shelly (Nicholas Balkou), his daughters Joan Rosengrant (Bill), Lori Genetti (Mike), his sons Bob and Roy (Tammy). He also leaves his sister Nancy Wilson, predeceased by his sister Lois Brown and his brothers Jack and Jim. Bob also leaves many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Born on November 8, 1928 on Merton Street in Toronto, Bob worked for nearly 50 years with the T. Eaton Company. He began at the age of 16 in the carpenter shop located at the Queen Street store in Toronto. He then became part of the Interior Store Design department during Eaton's rapid growth years facilitating new store openings in Ontario. His last role was as the Advertising and Display Manager at the Oshawa store. After retirement, Bob worked as a Sales Representative for Minuteman Press in Ajax, Ontario where he and Barbara resided for over 30 years.

Bob loved golf, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Toronto Maple Leafs. In his younger days, he loved to go fishing, duck hunting and turkey shooting. Crossword puzzles were also another one of his passions. Bob and Barb loved to dance and travel, especially to beach destinations and enjoyed many visits with his children and grandchildren.

Bob was a gentleman with an infectious smile and laugh, he was kind, loving, funny and had a beautiful singing voice and often serenaded those around him.

Special thanks to the staff at Carefree Lodge who cared for him so well over the last twelve years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

I have such fond memories of growing up with Bob as my oldest brother. He was 16 years old when I was born and was always very sweet with me over the years.
It was so sad to see him endure the many years of Altzheimer's but, at last, he's at peace.

My condolences to the Sandercock family. I just learned of this today. I knew Bob for many years. He was a kind, gentle man that I learned from. He always spoke about Barb and his children.

The many rounds of mini golf were absolute top tier times. We are building the wooden outhouse fixture from Pickering Playing Fields in the garden. Equipped for putting practice.
