In memory of

Robert William Brown

April 6, 1954 -  March 1, 2019

Robert William Brown, age 64, passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019, after a bravely-fought battle with cancer in Brampton, ON. He spent his last hours at home surrounded by his closest family and friends and a 1970’s rock and roll playlist.

Rob was born on April 6, 1954 in Toronto to Jack and Edith (nee MacDonald) Brown. He is survived by his wife, Ann (nee Sullivan); daughter, Diana; son-in-law, Adam Varma; granddaughter, Charlotte; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Doug Garner; nephew and niece, Bob and Laura Garner; brother-in-law, Jimmy Sullivan; father-in-law, James Sullivan; aunts, Mary Wells and Ruth MacDonald; and many cousins.

Rob’s life-long passion was music. From the time he received his first guitar at age 12 (which he continued to play until recently), he was a member of a number of bands, including The Circuit Riders, established almost 50 years ago. Rob will be remembered for his loyalty, kindness and generosity, donating countless hours to projects he believed in, including at North Bramalea United Church for more than 20 years.

Family, friends and others whose lives Rob touched are invited to North Bramalea United Church (363 Howden Blvd., Brampton) on Saturday, March 9, 2019. A visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. and reception at the church afterwards.

For those wishing to attend from afar, Rob would be delighted to know that the service will be live-streamed here: http://bit.ly/nbucstream

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to North Bramalea United Church. Donations will help fund the church’s new audio-visual system that Rob was passionate about implementing. Donations can be made at the church or on the church’s website: http://bit.ly/nbucdonate

Our sincerest thank you for the love and support you’ve shown our family. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at Princess Margaret Hospital, as well as the amazing care provided by many wonderful individuals while Rob was at home.
