In memory of

Robert Link Ko Mah

October 16, 1936 -  March 14, 2025

Our strong and courageous Dad passed away peacefully on March 14, 2025. He left this life the same way he lived – with dignity and on his own terms. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet. His three children – Patty, Wilson (Richard), and Julie (John) – will miss him terribly but they are deeply proud of his many accomplishments and the way he lived his life with integrity, kindness and indefatigable strength. He was a loving father who worked hard all his life to give his children and extended family the opportunities he never enjoyed. He arrived in Montreal from Hong Kong in 1955 and worked as a waiter to put himself through Baron Byng High School and eventually Radio College. He worked as an Engineering Technician at Canadian Marconi Company (CMC) for over 30 years, where he was highly respected and called back from retirement multiple times. He was also a superb athlete and became a competitive bowler during his retirement, winning many senior tournaments and bowling a perfect game (300) when he was 75 years old.

Family and friends will be received at Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation & Funeral Centres, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, ON, on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 1:00pm, until time of service at 1:30pm, and burial at 2:45pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB or CNIB guide dogs by clicking on Donations/Make a Donation at the top or at the bottom of this page.

Thanks to everyone for your loving support.

Dearest Patty, Wilson & Julie,
Please accept our deepest condolences. We are so, so sorry for the loss of your dad & great human-being.
He passed “his way”. It gives us comfort to know that his wish was granted & accepted by all who knew him. Your dad was such a gentle & modest man & loved & respected by all.
On a personal note, he helped me get in to Canadian Marconi where I learned how to be a good worker which in turn gave me this good life I live today!
Rest in peace “Uncle Bob”, we will keep you alive in our memories & dreams forever!
Take care of yourselves & God Bless,
Mike Lee & Family (Edna, Cathy, Jeff & Rachel)
