In memory of

Robert John Lee

April 21, 1963 -  November 3, 2022

As a child Robert was shy but friendly and loyal and who, in spite of his shyness developed and was surrounded by many friends.
He had a broad interest in many sports, particularly hockey, and he followed and played many of them throughout his life.

As a young adult he had the courage and foresight to embark on the new and expanding world of computers. A course that he was to follow all of his life. That world led him to various foreign shores where he developed his love of the cuisines of many nations. Robert's love of cooking was expressed with friends and family. He had such a passion for ethnic gourmet delights, even winning neighbourhood cooking contests with all the bragging rights.

Robert had a great love of family that was there for all to see. He revelled in being a parent and all that it entailed, whether it meant spending countless hours trackside, poolside and at the soccer field or assisting in homework assignments.

He also had such tremendous creative skills that normally would be applauded but he preferred to keep silent. Robert was a woodworker, chef, designer, painter, contractor, photographer, and an artist that appreciated modern architecture.

He was a man of quiet calm strength, always protective, loyal and compassionate to his family and close friends.

He is and will forever be missed by his immediate family and all who knew him.

Rest well Robert.

Our condolences for the family. God has another angel that cancer has taken at too young an age.

Robert and I met in 2000 at work when I joined the silicon valley family. We developed a deep and lasting friendship. We worked together hand in glove as a team for 8 years where you get so close that you finish each others sentences and roll your eyes as you have heard all the stories and jokes before. We travelled together, won club trips, lost some key deals, and always managed to have fun, be ethical in our work and enjoy the ride. Robert was close to my family where my kids new him as "Big Bob" as he was so tall. Robert was there to assemble my kids playsets, build stuff at my cottage, help me select my boat, inspect houses with me for my growing real estate business and even be my contractor a few times. Overall Bob was my very close friend whom I deeply cared for. It was a celebration for us when Bob met Rika and we watched fondly as Robert and Rika created their family unit with Russel and Sophie. When Robert was diagnosed we got together every two weeks to stay in sync and encouragingly walk through each test and further diagnosis. Robert was always there for me and I was there for him. Bob is deeply missed. Craig, Dianna, Mason, Kira

We will miss you on all those glorious “productive” walks that ended at Cornerbank or Sunrise, the leisurely soaks in the “Herron neighbourhood” pool, movie nights and the annual challenge to beat you at the cook off. Rest In Peace. You won’t be forgotten.
