In memory of

Robert Govan

March 11, 1932 -  April 11, 2020

Robert was born March 11th 1932 in Glasgow Scotland.
He fell in love with soccer at a young age, and was a lifelong Celtics fan ever since.

He joined the army at the age of 18 and served for two years, while playing soccer for the army team. After that, he worked for Mastercraft Tailoring in Glasgow. It was here that he met his wife Theresa Anderson. They married in October 1960 and had four children - Patricia, Paul, Louise and Robert - before moving to Toronto, Canada in 1968.

After moving to Canada, he worked for Lou Myles as a tailor’s cutter. He personally cut suits for Lee Iacocca, Lee Majors and Peter Falk, among others. Apart from his exceptional professional skills, he was gifted with a beautiful singing voice. He showcased it whenever possible, including Saturday nights at the 210 Legion.

He is survived by his wife, children, sister Agnes, eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews in Scotland and Canada. He will be deeply missed.

Thank you to the staff at Cawthra Gardens LTC Residence for taking care of our Dad over the past five years.
