In memory of

Robert Clarence Saylor

May 22, 1954 -  July 8, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Robert (Bob) Saylor after a brief battle with cancer at Credit Valley Hospital on Saturday July 8, 2023.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Susan, along with his daughter, Ashley. He was a loving husband, father, papa, son, brother and godfather and a friend to everyone.
Bob was a dedicated and respected employee with Laidlaw Carriers Bulk for the last 20 years. Driving big rigs was his passion for 50+ years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing in his off-road time, and also loved to share his stories of life.
His greatest joy in the last six years was spending time with his little sidekick, his grandson John. True buddies joined at the hip enjoying so many adventures together.

"It's a long, lonely and windy road, but somebody has to do it."

Bob, your shift is over, you can rest now. Your smile, your kindness and passion for your family will be truly missed.

Bob will be honoured with a Celebration of Life on Tuesday October 17, 2023 from 6-9 at the
Irish Club of Mississauga, 4120 Ridgeway Drive #39, Mississauga, ON L5L 5S9.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Bob’s honour would be appreciated by the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bob the last 7 or so years, my favorite memory of Bob, when he became a grandfather, coming into the drivers meeting that September with his proud Papa shirt on. From that day on his nick name was papa whenever I seen him. Bob always had a story tell weather it be from the old trucking days, Ashley and dog grooming working at the vet clinic or of his grandson! I will truly miss him standing at my office door weekly telling me what’s going on or hearing a new story, or one I have heard before. I would never tell him I heard that story already. Just let tell it again! 😊
May his memory be eternal. My sincere condolences.

Charming man who loved his family, the outdoors especially fishing (could talk a yarn or two) and his trucks (number two next to his lovely wife and children)

RIP Bob, I'm going to miss our banter and the laughs, and our shared sick sense of humour that we perfected each time we were around each other. Safe journey my friend. xo
