Bob's voice was the one at the other end of the phone when I was wanted as an On Call Chaplain . . . and he stayed talking until he was sure I really was awake and coming!
It is strange how you can feel so close to someone with whom you really only had an on-the-phone relationship. Bob made sure we all got to do our best for the patients. He had a rare talent and was a kindred spirit.
May the gates of heaven open wide at your coming, Bob . . . for surely they got a call that you were on your way. God bless . . .

For many years working at Mount Sinai, Bob was the friendly "voice in the night" at the other end of the phone when calling hospital locating. I was very sorry to hear of his passing, and extend my condolences to his family. He was a kind colleague who will certainly be missed.

His voice and supportive words helped easy many a situation at Mount Sinai Hospital during the long hours of the night shift. He was quick to smile and most often left in the morning still smiling and humming as though the night had been a breeze. He made a big difference in the lives of the people he touched by voice and smile.
My deepest condolences to those close to him. We were lucky to know him at all.
