In memory of

Robert (Bob) Bek

April 20, 1965 -  August 26, 2022

ROBERT (BOB) ZOLTAN BEK Robert Zoltan Bek died suddenly on Friday August 26, at the age of 57. Bob was born in Melbourne Australia, the son of Geza and Ilona Bek. He was an incredibly devoted husband to his beloved wife Zelia of 21 years, and an extremely dedicated and loving father to his daughters, Mia and Zoë. Loving brother to Les (Elaine) and brother-in-law to Duarte (Peggy) and Cristina (Stephane). Bob was a caring and generous uncle to nieces and nephews, Sarah, Kevin, Abigail, Jackson, Lily and Louis. Bob leaves behind his legacy in his two brilliant and athletic daughters who he loved beyond words. They will miss him dearly. He was a life long scholar and a natural athlete, who lived life fearlessly and to the fullest each and every day. He was extraordinarily successful in his career as a stock analyst, and an incredibly regarded thinker in the Telecom and Media space. His knowledge and insights were prized within CIBC and by their clients. Bob was a loyal and loving friend to many. He had boundless energy and herculean strength as he dedicated many hours into health, fitness, home renovations, and his picture perfect lawn. He will be remembered by many warm as friendly, and supportive. He possessed a genuine interest in people. With an endless curiosity for all things and a deep thirst for knowledge, he was looking forward to putting more time behind his hobbies, and spending more time with all his girls. He will be deeply missed forever.

So, so sad to hear of Bob’s passing at such a young age and just a few months after retiring. We worked together for 15 years and enjoyed some excellent travel experiences. Condolences to his lovely wife and two daughters!

So sorry to hear about this tragedy at such a young age. Bob and I worked together for 17 years while I was at CIBC doing Mining Analysis. He was in the office beside mine for a few of my early years 1996-2000 and then we moves spots so I was not near his desk as often yet we would see each other in the morning meeting. It is sad that this has occurred so soon after his retirement as he was just getting into the enjoyable period of life.

Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. What started as fellow soccer families turned into lifelong friendship, and Bob will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Our family is keeping your family in our thoughts and prayers.
