In memory of

Rita May Reed

December 25, 1923 -  May 12, 2022

With a sad heart we share this announcement.
On May 12th, 2022, in her 99th year Rita Reed went to be with her Lord. A true woman of faith and integrity, her heart was immeasurable.
Rita Reed (née Chennette) was born in Mattawa, Ontario making her an Ottawa Valley Girl. She grew up in Parry Sound, North Bay, Nobel, eventually settling to raise her family in Streetsville (Mississauga). Supported and loved by her late husband, Bob Reed. Rita was so loved and admired by her 3 children, (Terry Lee (Rob), Kimberley Anne (Rick) and Robert Craig (Nancy), and was Nanny to Lani, Jeremy (Heather), Jamie, Lauren, Sarah, and Jenny, and Great Grandnanny to Addison and Reese. She is survived by brother George and sisters Eileen, Lucille and Ella (Emile). Through 65 years of service to the Catholic Women’s League, she ultimately became president at the Local, Provincial and National levels. She was the first female Co-Chair of the Toronto Archdiocese’s ShareLife Campaign.
The earth was given the gift of Rita, a life well lived and now in Heaven she is hearing these words – “well done good and faithful servant”. She will be missed by many.
If so desired, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
