In memory of

Richard Mart Randmaa

September 26, 1961 -  June 16, 2019

RIC RANDMAA passed away suddenly on June 16, 2019 at the age of 57. He was born in Toronto in 1961 to Malle and Hanno Randmaa, who were both escapees of war torn Europe in the 1940's . Raised in Toronto with his three younger brothers, Ric graduated from Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute. He went on to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto and then was accepted into the prestigious MBA program at Western University. After University he pursued his passion: film and photography. When he picked up a camera, he never set it down. For 20 years, he ran Acme Pictures, an award-winning company that provided content for television and film.

In 1997, he married JoAnn Purcell. They had three children, twins Madeleine and Luc, and younger sister Simone. Ric loved old television music and radio and was a life-long fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs. He also enjoyed watching his children play hockey.

In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind his parents, brothers Thom (Louise), Steve (Colette) and Ed (Nikki), nieces and nephews and large extended family. In spite of health challenges in recent years, Ric remained a loving father, devoted brother, son, and friend. His kindness and generosity an inspiration to all. We will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Centennial Infant and Child Centre, the preschool that helped his daughter Simone flourish as a young child, or a charity of your choice.
