Richard Labagnao

March 20, 1949 -  December 1, 2022

On the morning of December 1 2022, Richard Labagnao passed away at the age of 73.  Richard was born to Jose and Estrella Labagnao in Iloilo City, Philippines.  

He earned in BA in Biology and BS in Commerce.  He married his loving wife Harriet Labagnao on June 23 1982 and together raised two children, Jansten and Jamelline.  He was employed as a meteorologist in the Philippine  Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services and Administration and worked his way to becoming a computer programmer and created PAGASA's first website.  Richard and his family moved to Toronto Canada on May 23 1997.  He held numerous positions for work but his most notable work is with Nortel as a fiber options technician that allowed him to travel and experience the US.  

Richard is artistic and is passionate about music, movies, and books.  When he is not watching films or listening to music, he would watch the news and engage in political discourse with his family at the dinner table.  He is intelligent, social, and influential.  He has a great sense of humour and is very fond of puns.

Richard is survived by his wife Harriet, his two children, Jansten and Jamelline, two sisters, Myrla and Vivian as well as his cousins, several nieces, nephews, and friends. 

A public memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 11 am at Pine Hills Cemetery (625 Birchmount Road Scarborough, ON M1K 1R1).  Visitation is on Monday December 12 4:00 - 8:00 pm and Tuesday, December 13 10:00 am - 11:00 am.
