Richard John Irwin

March 18, 1946 - July 10, 2024

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at the age of 78. Much loved son of the late Dr. Roy & Mavis Irwin. Beloved husband of Jeanne. Loving father of Ken and Jodi. Cherished grandfather of Jacob, Tyler, Travis and Julia. Dear brother of Chris (Kan), Cathy (Max) and Bob (Kate). He will be fondly remembered by his niece, many nephews, other family members and friends. John spent much of his spare time in the great outdoors either hunting, fishing or spending time at the family cottage. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

As a family we are grieving deeply for the loss of John, my big brother, my best pal as a little kid and my friend. We spent many a great summer together with our siblings, Cathy and Bob, on Baptiste lake, Birch Point. We all spend time on the lake, to this day.
We will miss you terribly. Your smile and sense of humour for sure. You will never be forgotten.
Jeanne, Ken, Jodi, Travis, Julia, Jacob and Tyler...we are here for you always. We love you dearly.

Dear Family,
John was one of the gentlest and kindest men whom I’ve had the privilege to know, love and share many long and fruitful years.
This was a man whose somewhat gruff exterior was contradicted by his soft and generous inner soul that benefitted all of us significantly.
He continues to be admired and loved by the extended family and friends he leaves in his wake.
Please be assured that these memories will continue for all of us to share. He will be missed!
