Richard Francis Molto

March 18, 1958 -  February 5, 2025

Richard Francis Molto, passed away at home surrounded by his children on February 5, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born and raised in Toronto. Richard led an extraordinary life, touching the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Richard was the biggest Toronto Maple Leaf fan, watching every hockey game, and was convinced that “This was the year!”

Richard was a big hearted, generous guy with an unforgettable sense of humour.

He is survived by his girlfriend Sarah, and children Darrell (Angela), Shane, Shana-Leigh (Joshua), Stephanie, Gordon, Irene (Paul), Casey (Reg), Rebecca (Brendon), and Danielle (Tom); grandchildren, Dominique, Sayla, Aiden (Victoria), Taliha, Owen, Rowan, Avery, Nathan, Mia, Nadia, King, Calyse, and Vida; furry grandkids, Horatio, Simba, Ruckus and Boo; siblings, Glen (Cathy), Yvonne, Carl (Laura) and Robert (Norma). Preceded in death by both parents, Leo and Helen, and sibling, Gail.

Richard’s visitation, funeral, and burial will be held on Friday, February 14th, 2025 from 12pm – 2:30pm at Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Rd, Toronto, ON M1K 1R1. A livestream link will be available for those that cannot attend in person. A Celebration of Life Reception will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 345, 81 Peard Rd, East York, ON M4B 1T8, at 3pm.

To celebrate Richard’s love of the game, the family is asking friends and family to wear Toronto Maple Leaf merchandise or colours: Blue, White, and Black. Jeans are encouraged, as Richard liked to dress casually.

Very sad to hear of Rick's passing. Will always remember the gatherings of the neighborhood kids in his parents basement, he was an ardent fan of Superman and later Batman.. riding his bike down the street paying them tribute with a towel attached to him flying like a flag.
Pre-curser to a unique gift of making adrirmation and imagination unite and bring his version to life!
