In memory of

Raymond Norton

June 20, 1932 -  September 4, 2024

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph Raymond Norton on September 4th, 2024, at Hillsdale Estates. He passed peacefully early in the morning in his sleep. He was 92 years old. Predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Peter Hamilton, Armand (Umpa) Nadeau, sister Marie and brother-in-law Stan Bice. He is survived by his niece Sandy (Tim) Keay, nephew Steve (Sue) Bice and nephew Scott Bice, 11 great nieces and nephews and their children. The Bice family always included Raymond as one of their own. Ray spent the majority of his life in Jackson’s Point on Lake Simcoe. If he wasn’t out swimming in the lake, he liked to spend his days at the workshop or cheering on his beloved Leafs and Blue Jays. Ray spent his last 8 years living at Hillsdale Estates (Moonlight Bay) where he was a favourite among staff. Quick to smile, Ray always managed to brighten up their day. We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Hillsdale for their exceptional care and compassion shown during his time there. They truly made it a home for Ray.

Raymond was a lovely man...smiling every time I saw him...92 what a life! You will be missed Ray. My visits only included a few trips up north, but mostly had visits at Aunt Marie's house. Condolences to all...

Ray was one of the first residents I cared for when I started working at hillsdale estates and a resident I will never forget. Rest in peace Ray. It was a pleasure caring for you. You will be missed.

To Sandy & Family,
Ray was a one of a kind guy who I looked forward to seeing every shift. He always loved joining my programs. I have many fond memories of him and will cherish them all. He had a big presence on Moonlight Bay and he won't be forgotten.
RIP Ray!
Go Leafs Go! Go Jays Go!
