Those who knew Raymond, in any capacity, have lost a shining star in their lives.
It is with a sad and heavy heart, we announce that Raymond Gibara, age 22, a beloved son, brother and friend passed unexpectantly on Sunday May 10th, 2020 during an evening nap at home. The death was sudden and unexpected.
Raymond will be missed so deeply by his father Dr. Magdy Gibara, his mother Maha Gibara, his sister Leena Gibara and younger brother Isaac Gibara as well as other family members, many friends, peers and coworkers. Those who knew Raymond will know he has such a pure and kind heart, and wanted good for everyone around him. He was such a loving, bright and amicable young man. Everyone who knew him loved him. Raymond dedicated his life helping those around him, and aimed to be a positive influence in his community. Raymond strived to ensure those around him were happy and would always put the needs of others ahead of him. Raymond loved sports, his family, his friends, and was a dedicated Raptors fan. His sense of humor always lightened the mood in difficult times, and he would always create a positive environment. Bringing laughter and smiles to those who knew him, Raymond’s strong personality and charming smile will forever be engraved in our hearts.
Raymond has been a dedicated and motivated student at the University of Guelph since 2015. He has made several contributions and built strong friendships during his time as a student.
Raymond was about to finish his final course towards his undergraduate degree in Marketing Management in the Department of Marketing and Computer Studies at the Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at Guelph University. He was also working part time and involved in a business internship. He had a bright future ahead of him, and his time on earth was much too short.
Although his passing was a tragic and painful one, we are comforted in knowing that he is in a peaceful place with our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ, away from all the tragedies and burdens of this earth. We know that he will always be watching over us and in our hearts and minds. We will never forget him, not even for a second.
We wish that we could hold him one more time, hug him, kiss him and tell him how much we love him.
Though the world truly lost an amazing person; Christ received his soul with open arms as the angels sang to his entrance. Raymond is now surrounded with divine love, the angels and saints. Just as he was a blessing in the lives of those who knew him, I am confident he will remain a blessing as prays with angels.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing”. Timothy 4:7-8
There will be an online funeral service which will take place on Thursday, May 14. Sadly due to COVID only immediate family is allowed attending the funeral. On the day of the service, there will be a “click here to watch service” link at the top of the Funeral's home page.
