In memory of

Ralph E. Crysler

November 15, 1926 -  December 11, 2017

CRYSLER, Ralph E., P.Eng
November 15, 1926 – December 11, 2017

Loving husband of Irma. Father to Susan, Neil (Joan), Jan (Tom) and Ian (Barbara). Grandfather to Allison, Adam, Katherine, Zoe, Ben, Rebecca, and Tara. Great Grandfather to Simon, Rowan, Theodore, Elias, and Hudson.
Dad was a Professional Civil Engineer, a graduate of U of T.
He became a fellow of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering in 1986 and the Engineering Institute of Canada in 2004. Dad was a long-time member of St. Jude’s Anglican, Oakville. He was proud of the work he did with the Archdiocese of Niagara for which he received the Order of Niagara in 2000.
Ralph enjoyed travelling the world with Irma and his sister Nancy. Together they cruised and hiked China, Scotland, England, as well as travelled through the South Pacific, South East Asia, Australia, and Canada. He took great pleasure from meeting and learning from people. He had an inquisitive mind, particularly in the physical sciences.
Ralph’s love of organ music led him to the collection and rebuilding of six church, pump, and electronic organs.
Perhaps his greatest pleasure last year was the celebration of his 90th birthday where his children, grandchildren, great grand children, and many friends gathered to celebrate at his home in the Claremont Retirement Residence.
Dad’s greatest love was his wife Irma. Together they showed us the meaning of love and devotion. They had great joy as their lives took them through Lawrence Park, Calgary, Oakville and back to Toronto. In later years through Mom’s dementia, he supported and loved her, ensuring that she knew she was never alone. A private service and cremation is taking place. A celebration of his life will be organized for April 2018.
Of all the pleasures of life Ralph enjoyed a dry martini and a good slide rule.
In lieu of flowers, Ralph would have appreciated a donation to Chester Village Long Term Care. http://www.chestervillage.ca
