In memory of

R. Colin Campbell

April 18, 1943 -  May 20, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Colin on Monday, May 20th, 2019 at North York General Hospital in Toronto. Colin will be greatly missed by his wife of over 50 years, Shirley (nee Baker), son Rob (Janell), daughter Janet (Kurt) and granddaughters, Olivia and Fiona; as well as his brothers John (Jenny) and Robert (Norah), sister-in-laws Marion (Jim) and Joanetta; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Colin was known for his love of the sea and mountains in his homeland of Scotland, his booming singing voice, his quick wit, his dry sense of humor, his ability to talk about anything and the love that he had for his family and friends. Colin demonstrated until the end that cancer can take your body, but it cannot take who you are or your soul.

A special thanks to the entire staff of the Freeman Center For The Advancement of Palliative Care for the incredible care and compassion that they showed towards Colin and the entire family during the final four months of his life.

A celebration of Colin's life will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church York Mills (2737 Bayview Ave, Toronto) on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow in the church Hall.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Freeman Center For The Advancement of Palliative Care (https://secure2.convio.net/nygh/site/Donation2?df_id=1541&mfc_pref=T&1541.donation=form1) or a charity of your choosing would be appreciated by the family.

The family would like to thank everybody for their incredible support and prayers during this difficult time.

I have known Colin for over 25 years. He became a great friend as did his wife Shirley. They welcomed me into their family with open arms. Colin was so integral in our artistic offerings as a member of Ensemble TrypTych Chamber Choir, acting in Opera Anonymous' production of The Consul as a tough cop; his stellar performance as Scrooge in TrypTych's Christmas Carol; and the voice of our TrypTych concert The Glory of Scotland. Colin I will always cherish your friendship, your wit, your love of "good" music, your intensity, your opinions and your mind. You were one of a kind sir!
