In memory of

Quirino Cotic

March 20, 1928 -  May 21, 2024

Quirino 'Rino' Cotic, 96 of Markham, Ontario, passed away May 21, 2024.
He was born on March 20th, 1928, to Guiseppe (Joseph) and Guiseppina (Pina) in Gorizia, Italy. His brother (Joseph) and sister (Anita) predeceased him, as well as a brother that died at birth.

Loving husband to his wife (Marina) and devoted father to his children Rino (Alida), Miriam (Brian), Lorraine. He will be sadly missed by his 3 grandchildren (Amanda, Niccola, Alessandra) and 2 great grandkids (Andreas and Angelica).

Quirino immigrated to Canada in the 1950’s with his brother Joseph and worked hard holding down two jobs at times to build a good life for his wife and children, at the same time attending Ryerson to further his studies in mathematics. Everything he did, he did for his family.

He worked for Union Carbide rising to a managerial role. After Union Carbide closed, his profession took him and his wife to Libya for a new adventure and work.

He was a fun father and an upstanding man of strong moral fiber who loved his family, children, nature and animals. He had unwavering faith in God and devotion to his family.

His greatest joys were the simple things in life, from spending time with family, to going to the Club Giuliano Dalmato with his wife to meet up and socialize with fellow emigrant members.

In recent years Alzheimer stole much of his memory but his love was ever present to the people that would visit him.

He will be missed.

I will fondly remember Quirino who always welcomed me into his home and the various times that we spent together with him and his wife Marina. It was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to share time with him and be part of his life and hear his life stories. Brian
