November 4, 1961 to February 3, 2025 / Lunar Calendar: September 26, 1961 to January 6, 2025

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of Qiao Ci Chen. Wife to Hung Tsao Chu. Beloved and proud mother to Lisa (Krys) and David, and loving grandmother to Scarlett, who she adored and cherished.

Qiao Ci, also known as 翘慈 or Kelsey by family and friends, was born in Taishan, Guangdong, China, and immigrated to Canada in 1986. Qiao Ci was a loving daughter to her late parents Song Xiang Chen and Xi Ai Huang, beloved sister to Feng Ci (Shi Wei), Dazi, Yong Ci (Wing Kuen), and her late brother Dazang (Dunnu), and loving aunt to Johnny, Melanie, Vivien, Emanuel, Miranda, Danh, Danting, and Huiting. In Canada, Qiao Ci built a beautiful life of opportunity for her children with the help of her dear aunt Shui Foon (Dee Kwong), their children, her parents and siblings, and husband.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially over a warm meal, laughing with her siblings, or playing mahjong.

Qiao Ci will be remembered as kind-hearted, resilient, and selfless, always thinking of others. She cherished the times she could meet up with family, past school mates and out-of-town friends. She was very hard working and spoke fondly of her work friends at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, where she dedicated 36 years.

Qiao Ci will be dearly missed by all her loved ones, and held close to our hearts forever. Rest in peace.
