In memory of

Pui Kay Wong

May 29, 1939 -  November 28, 2023

On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, Kay Wong, loving wife and mother of three children passed away at the age of 84

Kay was born on May 29, 1939 in Macau to a family of 6 children. She was the second eldest and the oldest daughter. After the war, she landed in Hong Kong and immigrated to Canada in 1958 when she was a teen.

Life in Canada was not easy for a new Chinese immigrant at that time. In the beginning, she took many courses in English, office administration, accounting and bookkeeping to advance her education. From there, she worked hard at her jobs, mostly in bookkeeping and continued to study in night school to advance and improve herself.

On October 23, 1965, Kay married her husband of 54 years and they went on to raise three children. Kay took care of the home and children for most of their early years. She went on to obtain her real estate license and worked for Living Realty for most of her real estate career.

Kay had a passion for baking and cooking. She was famous among her friends and colleagues for her Christmas cakes that she baked every year. She was also very social, spending time with her husband, colleagues, friends and hosting parties. She was often found playing mahjong and trying new activities such as line dancing and ballroom dancing.

Kay is survived by her three children, Ida, Judy and Lyndon and her seven grandchildren.

Dear Ida, Judy, and Lyndon:

Our condolences during this difficult time. Growing up, I remember your mom being a wise, purposeful, and well intentioned person leading her family to a direction of success. In reading her background, it definitely supports that. Happy to know she has so many grandkids - it’s a blessing.

My apologies that we could not attend today as I have Covid and it’s difficult on Ming to attend and manage thereafter.

However, know that we are praying for you all.
May I share a Bible verse with you here:
“ Trust in the lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Prov 3:5-6

🌸Blessings,
Ming, Mei Ling, Charis, Jalen, Wesley, and Bo Won
