In memory of
Pooja Paul
July 22, 1992 -
February 14, 2022
On February 14, 2022, our beloved Pooja left us. She was a daughter, sister, best friend, friend, granddaughter, niece, cousin, massi and giggle machine to many.
To those who have had the joy of meeting her know that she would brighten up every room she came into. She had a BIG personality, and made sure you knew she was there.
She used to scream real loud to scare everyone and then giggle when she did.
Her fake pouting to get what she wanted, and her sly little smirk when she was called out for “acting”.
Her love of “GO GO” and going for joy rides to the point that she would scream at her Dad when pulling in to the driveway cause she was not done. Dad of course gave in and took her for more till she was satisfied.
Whenever she was hungry she knew her Mum would be there and would cry out for her softly and she would come running to take care of her baby girl.
Her love of grabbing her Dad's glasses and tossing them, or scratching and pulling at her brother's hair.
She loved being around people and being the centre of attention. As she became a teenager, she loved going to the mall. She would go hang out for hours with her closest and dearest friends. The constant noise and hustle and bustle made her day (as well as going to the food court and chomping on fries).
Her personal one on one discussions with her brother and the fact that she would call him when someone was annoying her so she could be saved.
Her LOVE of music and when she wanted to play her Robert Munsch CD.
She travelled the world, going to Delhi, Montreal, Ottawa, Quebec City, Kingston, Florida, Washington, Pittsburgh, New York, Chicago, Mexico and numerous visits to Niagara.
Most of all she was a fighter. The last decade was riddled with constant hospital visits. But with each visit she would start to feel better and laugh and giggle and win over the hearts of the hospital staff. She showed that it does not matter what adversity life throws at you, but to look at the glass more than half full. She warmed the hearts of many.
As you know, Pooja was visually impaired since birth. The issue was not with her eyes, but the optic nerve to the brain. Therefore, we have made the conscious choice to donate her eyes so that she may help someone else who may need them.
The funeral will be a private event and so we ask that if you please join us via the webcast on this website if you have not been asked to join us in person.
Throughout the ceremony, we will be playing some of her favourite songs. They are upbeat and jovial, which is typically the music she loved and would have been how she would have asked to be sent off.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to Credit Valley Hospital in Pooja's name.
We ask for you to share any and all memories you have of Pooja. She touched the hearts of many people and we would love to hear how she impacted yours.
