In memory of

Polly Skura

November 5, 1925 -  December 30, 2020

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our beautiful Mom, Granny and Great Granny, Polly Skura, who took her last breath on Dec 30th at the age of 95 yrs.

Predeceased by her husband Frank (1990), and her son Alan (2019). Mom leaves behind her grateful daughters Donna Woodford and Sandy Duncan; her favourite sons-in-law Greg Woodford and Jim Duncan; and her daughter-in-law Debbie Skura. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Ken, Jason, Christopher and Shannon. She was also a great grandma to Celestia and Jason Alan. Mom will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and friends.

Polly was predeceased by her brothers Art and Stan and her sister Rosie, and her parents John and Annie and is in the company of a galaxy of other great souls. Polly is fondly remembered and loved by her sister-in-law, Stella.

Mom had a tremendous fondness for dancing and enjoyed dancing well into her 90s's conquering both the shimmy and the waltz. A fierce independent spirit, she is legendary for walking great distances and riding her bicycle into her late 80’s. It was her physical fitness that propelled her to the age of 95. Mom kept a kind thought for everyone and had a willingness to help anyone at anytime without ever asking anything in return.

In the words of Mother Theresa, "the only thing that never dies, is love." And so it is that Mom/Granny will remain with each of us who carries that love and pays it forward.

In lieu of flowers, please do a random act of kindness expecting nothing in return.

Please note that due to Covid Gathering Restrictions this is a private by invite only event. Kindly leave your condolences online and the family asks for everyone to remain safe.

You can virtually attend the funeral service that will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 starting at 10:45am. You can join the service by clicking onto the link which will be located on the top page at the start of the service.

Although we have never met in person, I feel that I know you Polly through your lovely daughter Sandy. I shall cherish the lovely little video chats with you waving to me and saying hello, and the wonderful photographs that Sandy has shared with me over the last few years. So thank you Polly for allowing me to share a part of your life and for making me smile. God Bless xxx
